Brave teenage boy escapes ISIS by volunteering to be a suicide bomber A brave 14-year-old boy escaped ISIS chiefs after pretending that he was ready sacrifice himself as a suicide bomber. Syrian teen Usaid Barho, was one of thousands of children recruited by the militant Islamic group. But Usaid, who once dreamed of becoming a doctor, had other ideas. While showing great courage, he approached stunned guards at a Shiite mosque, unzipped his jacket, making the decision that he and untold others would live. The New York Times report that he told Iraqi intelligence how he was recruited to ISIS. He said: They seduced us to join the caliphate. They planted the idea that Shiites are infidels and we had to kill them. He also claimed that if he did not fight, Shiites would come and rape his mother. Poor Usaid was then taken to Iraq from his home near Aleppo, but he quickly harboured doubts about his destiny. Once in Iraq, the recruits were given the choice of being a fighter or a suicide bomber. He decided his best chance was to volunteer to be a suicide bomber so he could then immediately surrender. He added: “I raised my hand to be a suicide bomber. “If I were a fighter and tried to surrender to security forces, they might kill me, with my gun in my hand. while many boys become child soldiers or like Usaid, suicide bombers. #toching and emotional story!
