Braydens appointment went well at U of L Pediatric Neurologist - TopicsExpress

Braydens appointment went well at U of L Pediatric Neurologist yesterday!! They are ordering him a special car seat, a compression suit, weighted vest, and a weighted blanket (they believe that these things will help him to be more content while in the car, at school, while playing at home, and while sleeping. These are commonly used in children with autism or with children that have sensory issues). They have referred him to a Pediatric Sleep Medicine Specialist and also to a Pediatric Developmental & Behavior Specialist, a Pediatric Psychologist, and a Pediatric Psychiatrist. They also want him to go to the Cinncinati Childrens Hospital to have the Autism Evaluation and a neurological evaluation (this could take up to 2 years to get in). They also went ahead and did his blood work to see if he has a syndrome that is very rare (1 in 25,000) that he has ALL signs of....it is called Smith Magenis Syndrome there is no cure for this however they still have a normal life expectancy...it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get the results back!! Please continue to keep him in your prayers!!
