Brazil Blends Shuttle Time & Para-Badminton! Though the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games are going to Brazil, that country’s physically impaired community has to wait until at least 2020 for a chance to showcase their para-badminton skills at that level. However, thanks to BWF’s Shuttle Time programme, youth with impairments are already getting the hang of the sport. Shuttle Time - the schools-based initiative introducing badminton to children – is being used to deliver fun para-badminton activities to youngsters with disabilities. See how children in Sao Paulo enjoy the “balloon tap” drill which aids hand-eye coordination and movement. Hopefully, by Tokyo 2020, para-badminton will feature in the Paralympic Games – giving these young Brazilians a stage on which to play.
