Bread of life John 6:35 Bartimaeus the blind 2 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me! Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, Son of David, have mercy on me! So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you. And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. So Jesus answered and said to him, What do you want Me to do for you? The blind man said to Him, Rabboni, that I may receive my sight. Then Jesus said to him, Go your way; your faith has made you well. And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road Mar10:46-52. The last issue ended with Bartimaeus which means the son of the highly prized sitting on the road begging like the injured man in the parable of the good Samaritan. But the surprise happened when the good Samaritan actually showed up and healed the injuries, the blindness and all the sickness, of whom the bible said that He was healing every sickness and every disease among the people Mat9:35! Our Lord Jesus showed up on the road between Jericho and Jerusalem, between the cursed city and the blessed one as if God is trying to tell us that no matter how much we drifted away from Him, He will still come to us! The surprise is that our Lord Jesus did that for Bartimaeus the blind! I mean that you can feel pity for a beggar in the street and so you give him some money but we dont see people changing their schedules and routes in order to give alms to beggars! But our Lord Jesus went to Jericho for that man only, because the bible does not tell us anything else about this trip as if this blind beggar is the reason for that trip! The surprise is that every one you meet in the street is important to our Lord Jesus! Every person is valuable even the beggar because he was redeemed by our Lord Jesus and had our Lord Jesus been here with us in the body He would have gone to the cursed city because of the beggar! Our Lord Jesus did like He told us in the parable of the good Samaritan and He went out of His way, came to the injured person, loved him and made sacrifices for him! Even if you have not gone to our Lord Jesus, even if you are still stuck on the road from sin to righteousness, dont worry because our Lord Jesus would come for you if you are waiting for Him! He will come to you even if you were in hell as David said to God If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me Ps139:8-10! Do not worry about where you are or even about your state because no matter how much you are injured, even if you are begging, the God of the universe will come to you and you need to be sure of that because the worst thing is if you miss His amazing presence because you dont expect Him!
