► Breakfast in Somaliland and - street art Todays breakfast - local good bread, spreadable creem cheese from Saudi Arabia, strawberry jam from Dubai, honey from Yemen and coffee probably from Ethiopia + bottled water from the region. Somaliland is now in the Arabian orbit to an extent I can not recognise from 35 years ago where everybody were proud of being Somali and nothing else. Women now must cover their head, the Constitution is built on Sharia, the flag that used to be a white 5-pointed star on sky blue bottom is now in the Arab world/Muslim white-read-green. In one hotel room I found hundreds of satellite channels 98% of which from the Arab world. And they say Salaam Aleikum instead of Nabad or Barasha Wanagsan when they greet each other. I dont judge, I am just very very surprised how the war and transition has changed the Somalis who live here in this part of the Somali nation. Below, there is security arrangements everywhere in contrast to what everybody says that there is peace and security everywhere in Somaliland.
