Breaking: 周四安徽阜陽市政府外一男性村民自焚。中文報道鏈接在後。Another Chinese self immolation! A man set himself alight in Fuyang city, Anhui province, in the morning of Thursday, January 15. The self immolator, whos since been hospitalized, is 61-year-old Cheng Jinshan, a villager near the city, according to state-owned Southern Metropolis Newspaper, quoting an official at Fuyang Chinese Communist Party committees propaganda section. The official confirmed to the reporter that Cheng burnt himself outside the city government. The newspaper reports the site is also next to the Bureau of Letters & Calls, a government body where petitioners frequent. There have been a few Chinese self immolations in recent years, mostly over land grabbing and forced demolitions of immolators homes. The cause of Chengs self immolation is unknown but local petitioners told Radio Free Asia its possibly over land grabbing as local officials have been taking peasants land and offering little compensation.
