Breaking!!!! An airtime vendor Taurai Sithole has been assaulted by three police officers at Africa Unity Square, for allegedly joining the core group of our protesting team at the park. Sithole yesterday joined our gathering during a discussionabout thenatioal crisis andthe police team identified him. They summoned me just before 08:00 hrs and accused me of having joined the group of protesters led by Dzamara. Three of them took turns to beat me under the feet and behind my back. I have a lot of pain and am seriously swollen, Sithole said. We have enlisted our lawyer to take up the matter and take legal measures. We strongly condemn the conduct of the police team, which is clearly aimed at intimidating people from exercising their constitutional rights, including those of association and protesting.
