Breaking News: California Legislature approves raising minimum wage to $10 from $8 by 2016. Elitist Marxists in government deceive the people into thinking that hiking minimum wage is going to "help the poor" by improving their quality of life. Quite the contrary. Raising the minimum wage will simply make it more difficult for the unemployed to get a job and for the employed to keep a job, as the cost of doing business is also increase with wage hikes. This is, essentially, economic suicide and a certain pathway to higher crime and incarceration rates and poorer public health conditions. It appears to me that is precisely what advocates of minimum wage seek.
