Breaking News......Quite literally its breaking too, and very sad to hear from the HMS Plymouth group that the ship has been destroyed in the Turkish scrapyard. We have always supported any proactive campaigns to bring this ship back to Plymouth but it has got to be one of the most confusing battles to save some of our maritime heritage. Why on earth one of, if not the most historic maritime city in the world does not have a floating museum is beyond me. It really is tragic for the people of Plymouth to be denied a tourist attraction like this but no. Is it not time to stop counting on bloody Visual Interpretation Boards that cost thousands to put up anyway and actually listen to what the people want. Utterly disgusted at the wanton destruction of history. RIP HMS Plymouth
