Breaking News. The Community of SantEgidio in Rome hosts the Vice President of the Rwandan terrorist group FDLR. On 26 July, the Community of SantEgidio, known for its contribution to the peace process in Burundi (2002-2004), has organized a meeting in Rome with representatives of the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda, United Nations, peacekeeping UN mission in the Congo: MONUSCO and representatives of the European Union. The objective of the meeting was to find a diplomatic solution to the FDLR armed opposition by opening dialogue with the government in Kigali. During the meeting was put forward the request that FDLR should be recognized as a political movement in Rwanda, despite its organization and implementation of the genocide in 1994. At the meeting was present Iyamuremye Gaston, Vice President of FDLR currently operating in Kalonge North Kivu, DRC, as reported by Radio France International. Iyamuremye Gaston, alias Rumuli Byiringiro, Victo Rumuli, Victor Rumuri, Michel Byiringiro (false identities used by Jtamuremye) is on U.N. list of international criminals who are prohibited international flights and wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity commesssi during the Rwandan Holocaust. The initiative of SantEgidio has created many reaction even within the United Nations, European Union and a strong protest of the government in Kinshasa accusing the existence of an attempt to rehabilitate the genocidal forces at the precise moment that they are organizing an invasion of Rwanda. Requests of explanation has been sent to the SantEgidio Community, the Italian Ministry of the Interior and the Department of Public Safety, in order to obtain a valid explanation to be included in the article that will be published next week on Italian newspaper on line L’Indro.
