Breaking my long standing rule of not talking about my RL on - TopicsExpress

Breaking my long standing rule of not talking about my RL on here.As my friendslist is so narrowed only people I respect, love and trust are on here.I expect no one will use my RL info as cannon fodder for trolling in-game as happened years ago. 5 years ago today my son Patrick Paddy entered this world at 26 weeks gestation.2 pounds and 14 ounces of fighting spirit. He survived underdeveloped organs, several infections, and life-threatening N.E.C. with no lasting affects (even though the doctors told us hed probably be any combination of blind, deaf and mentally retarded),only to be struck by an undiagnosed (to this day) neuro-muscular disease which robbed him of his ability to see, eat, swallow, smile and talk. After a g-tube,a nissen, multiple choking epsiodes,I.C.U. stays, thousands of tests, aspiration pnemonias, collapsed lungs,a cardiac arrest,10 minutes being legally dead.I am so grateful to say not only is my son still her he is doing amazing! In recent months he has regained his ability to swallow and eat safely after a year of not being allowed to have anything orally as well as he can manage his own secretions. He went from 24/7 feeds no no g-tube feeds! After many struggles and mastering sign language as his first language he regained his ability to speak full and understandable sentences! He regained his smile and even some movement and control in his eyes! And his last 2 cold and 1 bout with the flu he stayed out of the hospital which has never happened! He always needs oxygen and suction and cough assist etc. After the loss of his 2 older brothers during the second trimester of my pregnancies and my pregnancy with Paddy being so rough I dont think anyone couldve imagined he would survive.A year ago in May he was on life-support in a coma and we were waiting to find out if he had any brain activity after being dead for over 10 minutes. And now he is a tiny tornado, running jumping, climbing and charming and trolling the masses. I know how grateful we are as not everyone has an outcome like ours.Never give up hoping! Love you all so much. Thanks for letting me share my son and his story today!Happy Birthday Paddy!
