Breaks my heart to see the elderly so badly neglected, especially when its his own children that are doing it to him. We have a neighbor who is probably in his 70s. Hes disabled and on all kinds of medication. He has one daughter that lives in Springfield I think, And another that lived here in town and was taking care of him before. But now it seems shes just took her boyfriend and left and left him with no food, He came over yesterday saying she hadnt been home in a few days and he was hungry. I sent some dinner over for him. Then he brought back the dishes from yesterday and said she still wasnt home and he didnt have anything in the house to eat. Had to bite back the tears. I gave him some soup, fruit and a few other things I knew he could put in the microwave for himself but he needs help bad. He needs a caregiver to take care of him and Im lost on how to get him some help. If anyone in our area knows someone that can help him please let me know.
