July 2, 2013 Ephesians 4:17-18 (NIV) 17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Hosea 4:6 (NIV) 6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. "Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. These two passages of scripture, the first from the New Covenant and the second from the Old Covenant, sound an awful lot alike to me. This tells me that Christians today are doing the same thing that they did in the times past. Many Christians, and both of these were written, spoken, to the Christians, are still rejecting the knowledge that God is trying to impart to His people. One of the things that we have rejected is the knowledge of our authority and power that we inherited through Jesus. Some Christians like to say that they don’t want to override the sovereignty of God. This is just another way to reject what we have inherited through Jesus. By rejecting this power and authority that we inherited through Jesus we are denying His sovereignty of God because God is the one that has done all of this through the crucifixion of His Son, Jesus the Christ. When Jesus went to the grave He took the keys, power and authority, from Satan so they are in His hands. We the church are the body of Christ so the keys, power and authority, are in our hands. We have free will so we have to choose, life or death, the power and authority is in our hands.
