Brenda Jones, fourth grade teacher at Little Cypress Intermediate, reports that her class has not only been busy learning, but they have won a few things in recent days. The whole class won the “Golden Spoon” for the best behavior in the cafeteria for last week. This is the first fourth grade class awarded the prize this school year. Summer Diamond’s class won the “Golden Fork” for fifth grade. All perfect attendance students have their name entered in a drawing for prizes and Brooklyn Leonard, of Ms. Jones’ class, had her name drawn. She won a $5.00 gift card to Dairy Queen. On Friday, November 14, Jordan Savoy’s name, along with seven others, was drawn to sit in a conference chair for the day. These were the first winners for the “Principal’s 200 Club.” Each day, seven teachers are chosen to pass out a Principal’s 200-award certificate. At the end of the day, any student that received a ticket exhibiting PRIDE (Practice Responsibility, Respect, Insist on Safety, Demonstrate Teamwork and Encouraging Others) are called to the office to place their ticket on a board in the main hall. The board is then played like a bingo board. Once a row is complete, all the students in that row win special rewards, such as sitting in the meeting room chair for the day and a pizza lunch with the principal. The teachers write their names on the back of the ticket they give out and one teachers name is drawn for a prize. It is called 200 because that is how many numbers are on the 200 board. When a row is filled, the board is then cleared and the game starts over. Speaking of learning while they are having fun… Marshall Braus, in the attached photo is working on getting a light bulb to turn on by completing a circuit.
