Brendan OCallaghan shared Irish Spiritual Centres post. Irish Spiritual Centre How open are we to love? Do we know what love is? Are we afraid of love? These are important questions to ask ourselves before we can proclaim love. We have spoken before about this topic and now we need to speak more. If we are to be in a position to receive love we need to be able to understand what it is. Love is Divine. Its as simple as that. Our physical consciousness requires a better definition or description than that and this is where it becomes more complicated. We cannot describe God, God is Divine, so how can we describe that which is so of God? We try to bring love into physical terms and thus limit its powers. In order to understand love we need to experience it. If we cannot be open to it we cannot experience it. If we have difficulty trusting God we cannot experience God, yet both God and Love are vital to the spirit that we are. Love is not to be confused with anything else. Love is solely experienced through the spirit and never through the physical body, unless the body and spirit are fully integrated. If there is no integration than mixed signals are experienced with the most dominant feeling being the physical one and attraction taking precedence over Love. Most relationships are based on attraction not on Love. Every relationship can be based on Love with the addition of attraction. This situation can only occur through spiritual awareness. We can love everyone and everything and still not be attracted to them. When we have difficulty with not being attracted to something society says we should be attracted to, then it is simply that it is not to be part of our life, but we can still Love it. When we have an interaction with a fellow human, e.g. the butcher or the baker, we can love them but we dont have to marry them, unless we relate to them that way also. Because Love is Divine it carries no condition not even when I love you cause youre you. This latter is relationship. Can we trust Love, can we trust God? Yes! Can we trust ourselves? Now theres a question. Can we trust others? Only if we trust ourselves firstly. Then can we trust others? Only if we Love them. But what if they let us down? They cant if you Love them, remember Love carries no conditions. Expectations are conditions, the expectation that someone wont let you down, when it comes to Love, shows this love you have for them is conditional and therefore not Love at all. If we understand this then we know more about Love, can trust Love, receive Love and be truly spiritual, in harmony with all without fear.
