Brendon and I are spreading the word about stroke in EVERYONE, as today is the first day of May - National Stroke Awareness Month. Stroke doesnt discriminate. Stroke will attack any living human being at any time! Stroke has deeply impacted our lives. My grandmother endured a massive stroke in the mid 70s and ultimately died. We have come a long way since the 1970s for strokes in the elderly. However, we have a long way to go for strokes in everybody! My husbands father (my father-in-law) had several strokes just before he died. My children and I never had the pleasure of knowing him. Then my son, Brendon, had a stroke before he was born. This has impacted me beyond words as Brendon has showed such amazing strength and that a stroke will not penetrate the human spirit! He is my hero! As we have traveled this journey we have had the pleasure of meeting and being deeply inspired by hundreds of other people impacted by stroke, young and old alike! Blessings to all who are deeply impacted by stroke and promise that we are working to make positive changes with so many warriors out there! :)
