Brer Rabbit pleaded that he not be thrown into the brier patch. The Republican Party appears to promote the idea that Ronald Reagan would not be welcome today because so many Democrats voted for him. If a candidate wants to avoid the trap, he should plead for the public to throw him into the brier patch of smaller government, legal protection for unborn Democrats, and reductions in the number of laws, regulations, statutes and case law that cripple our economy and restrict our personal freedoms.
