Brets Poetry Project below finally finished.... Daddy’s Little Circus Girl By Bret Terrell From Sideshows to elaborate gowns Uplifting smiles from downward frowns Each act performed in circled rounds My favorite, are the clowns With pony rides for chimpanzees In flight, they swing from their trapeze Sweet Candied Floss sticks to my knees This place of great appease Then enters elephants and bears Small dogs that jump and circle chairs Skin pimples raise my youthful hairs No other world compares I wonder, as I look the crowd Is mine, the only, laugh...that’s loud The dusty floor creates a cloud So happy, in my shroud Then, ringmaster says, “Final act!” The funny clowns, in cars..pact As people from the tent extract With tear, comes my react I’ll miss those funny things I’ve seen The cannon man...his trampoline Big lions, that made others...scream The juggler’s routine Then Father said, “Perhaps next year.” I wasn’t sure I heard him clear Repeated...My tears disappear My daddy loves me dear
