Brett emailed--m interested in hearing some thoughts on my procedure and also the prosthetic model that was recommended to me today by the prosthetic company. 7/18/14 a car crossed 4 lanes and went thru a guardrail to hit me on my motorcycle. (she was uninsured) LBKA on 8/13/14. Im curious about the procedure I had because it seems more uncommon now than I thought. THE QUESTION: The Dr wrapped the bottom of my foot tissue onto the shin area of my leg. HOW COMMON IS THIS PROCEDURE?? ANY CONCERNS WITH THIS PROCEDURE?? 2nd: Itll be at least a month before I can start to be fitted for a prosthetic but today they did a physical evaluation on me and was rated a #4 on the test. Im very active. (I missed half the season while in the hospital but Im currently back out coaching soccer from a wheelchair. I coach other sports as well. Plus I try to stay fit and am a runner when I have time. Im a very busy guy but like to plan to train for a race once in awhile. I ran a marathon 2 yrs ago and other smaller races since then but Im not afforded the time to be a runner 365 days a year so Im curious if the recommended new leg is right for me. What do you guys think??)............. IT IS A Wave Sport v3 by Fillauer. .................... I havent researched it yet but starting that now. ANY THOUGHTS ON THE LEG??
