Brian D. Saylor Rebecca Small Saylor Emily Marie Saylor I just wanted to let you know that I am VERY proud of your daughter. She is working hard, studying, practicing and improving every day. I truly believe that she not only has a gift in photography but thats she also has the determination and passion needed to truly succeed. Emily, keep studying, keep shooting and keep following your heart. Its easy to confine yourself in a box with something like this because there are so many techniques to learn. To stand apart, the heart MUST be leading. Go slowly with your editing, this is important at first because you need to learn how everything works and discover your style. If you are going to do shoots, dont offer more than 20 photos on a cd because the pressure will be discouraging. Besides, thats way more than anyone would get in a standard studio anyway. And if you are going to do shoots, let it be only for close friends and family. I would be glad to overlook the final product. You have a lot going on and you dont want to lose your passion under stress.... trust me, its happened to me twice and I had to step back for a bit. Typically, setting a goal of two to four weeks is fair, although most photographers choose 6 to 12 weeks, but please tell everyone what to expect because many people dont know what this takes, its a lot more complicated than snapping a photo. Lastly, daily google photography from around the world.... that will fuel your flame like you wont believe! Good job on your homework, Im proud of you and I believe in you. Love, Celi
