Brian McCormick Sports Premier Division Gweedore Celtic 2 Cappry Rovers 2 At a windswept Screaban, Cappry Rovers will be happy with a share of the spoils. The visitors played with the aid of the wind in the first half but despite having the bulk of possession they created tey found it difficult to create any clear cut chances. The home side should have gone ahead on ten minutes but Tommy Diver couldn’t convert Colin Ferry’s cross. Cappry took the lead on twenty minutes when a corner into Gweedores goalmouth broke to Michael Lynch and he lashed it into the net. Gweedore were back on level terms five minutes later when Odhrán Mc Niallais was fouled in the penalty area. Jamie Boyle took the penalty and although the keeper managed to stop the initial kick, the ball rolled over the line. Gweedore Celtic took the lead on 55 minutes when Colin Ferry managed to scramble home an in-swinging corner from Jamie Boyle. Gweedore pushed forward but despite Tomás Diver hitting the post from a 25 yard half volley and Odhrán Mac Niallais hitting the crossbar they couldn’t increase the lead. They were made to regret those misses when Paddy Mc Nulty headed home an inch perfect cross from close range on seventy five minutes. Best for Gweedore were Peter Mc Gee and Jamie Boyle.
