Brief History of Baluchistan Balochistan- (The land of Baloch) - TopicsExpress

Brief History of Baluchistan Balochistan- (The land of Baloch) straddles into 3 countries Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan including part of southeastern Iran, western Pakistan, and southwestern Afghanistan. In all three countries where a part of Balochistan had been annexed, Balochistan is the most underdeveloped, the most marginalized, and the most crestfallen province. With its strategically important Deep Sea port Gwadar located on the south-western coast of Pakistan, on the Arabian Sea, Balochistan bridges the Middle East and Southwest Asia to Central Asia and South Asia, and forms the closest oceanic frontage for the land-locked countries of Central Asia. Balochistan is rich in Oil and Gas with its soil that holds large quantities of gold, coal, copper, silver, platinum, aluminium, uranium and above all is a potential transit zone for a pipeline transporting natural gas from Iran and Turkmenistan to India. In 1928 Iran occupied the western Balochistan against which hundreds of Baloch tribesmen fought and sacrificed their lives and in 1948 Pakistan invaded the Eastern Balochistan by killing hundreds of armless Baloch and annexed the Baloch territory against the will of Indigenous Baloch. Baloch has never accepted the fake political boundaries dividing its territory nor has accepted the illegal occupation of these oppressing states. Since the occupation of its territory, Baloch has been struggling against this occupation and for the liberation of its Motherland. Pakistan and Iran’s military have carried out a number of ruthless military operations to suppress the Baloch aspirations of liberty, peace and justice by killing thousands of innocent Baloch and displacing hundreds of thousands. To date, the target killings of Baloch national leaders, political activists, doctors, lawyers, students, poets and singers is continued by Pakistan and Iran and have abducted and tortured thousands of Baloch and thousands are yet missing but Baloch is not willing to give up without putting an end to the illegal occupation of its territory and to achieve peace and the real Freedom of its own and its Motherland an independent, democratic and secular Balochistan. Playing their due role the Human Rights Organisations, United Nations and European Union are requested to intervene in Balochistan to notice and stop the Pakistani and Iranian barbarism that has killed thousands of innocent Baloch and thousands of them are yet missing in the dungeons of these cruel states. The Baloch and other humanitarian people belonging to any ethnicity, race or religion are requested to join us and participate in raising the plight of Baloch in a well organized manner.
