John Howard Sr. Persistence -1.to not give up in spite of opposition 2. to endure until you hear from God Prayer-1. an act of worship whereby we offer praise and thanksgiving unto God 2. to make request unto God with our hearts and our lips 3. the breath of our soul Prayer pushes back the enemy. As the widow in the scripture was persistent in her pursuit of the judge, we should also be relentless in our pursuit of God. submission- the acceptance of God’s complete authority Unforgiveness and lack of repentance makes our prayer life ineffective. 3 Categories of Prayer Communion- the act of praise and worship which only seeks the glory of God; looking towards God; the area of prayer where turn our attention toward God; the part of prayer that removes the hinderances between you and God; the act of surrendering your will to God; the line that connects of soul with the battery of God’s power; the attitude of complete submission Petition-the act of our attention being turned to our own needs intercession-concern/prayer about the needs of those around us
