Brief update The last two nights I stayed with rotary couples in Lockport, north of Buffalo, and in Rochester. Dave and Kathy Greenfield posted me in Lockport and Dave and I went for a Rotary meeting Thursday morning at the Niagara County Central Rotary club. Luisa and Wim hosted me last night in Rochester, got up early with me this morning, made me breakfast and lunch, and sent me on my way full of great stories about grant projects they had been involved with. Both days I regretted that I did not have more time to spend both with my hosts and sightseeing in the cities. That has been a constant thing, but the only solution would have been to have added several weeks to my trip. And that was simply not an option. Christina has given up enough so that I can do this trip. Most cross-country riders that I have come across average between 60 and 80 miles a day – and that allows more time to visit or to sightsee when coming to a town or a city. The fact that I am able to do this trip at all is an incredible blessing – so I take what I can from each day, and Im very thankful for it. I am sitting in a park in Clyde New York. I am halfway through 100 mile day. My host this evening has arranged for me to present at a zone meeting, so Im very excited about that. I will be in Syracuse tonight, and leave tomorrow for Pittsfield mass. District Gov. Mike Roy in Western Massachusetts has arranged a total of six different presentations over the next few days, again very excited. There is also a ride from Pittsfield down to Westfield mass where a number of chains has signed up to ride the 50 mile trip with me Sunday afternoon. The only challenge is that I got to New York again later than I expected you, so have to make up a day between now and Sunday. So today is a century, tomorrow is a double century. Ill be on the road at 6 AM, and hope to arrive in Pittsfield around midnight. Never done one of those – Im curious to see if Im up for it. Ill let you know. Thats all for now :)
