Brilliant conclusion to Neil deGrasse Tysons Cosmos. I can only praise the follow up to Carl Sagans view. Carls Pale Blue Dot was a major influence that not only awakened a passion for science in me, but changed me from an angry, depressed, and nihilistic student to the person I am today. I used to watch the video below daily during the hardest times of my life, and in the right perspective this is among the greatest motivations I have ever received. I never met Sagan, but his writings and the Cosmos changed my life. There is no sign of humans in this picture: not our reworking of the Earths surface; not our machines; not ourselves. From this vantage point, our obsession with nationalisms is nowhere in evidence. We are too small. On the scale of worlds, humans are inconsequential: a thin film of life on an obscure and solitary lump of rock and metal...Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. -Carl Sagan youtu.be/2pfwY2TNehw
