Brilliant use of tech to help those in the Philippines affected by #yolandaPH - The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has activated the “Digital Humanitarian Network” in response to Typhoon Yolanda. You can join in and help the Emergency Operations Center at the UN by helping to tag Tweets in one of six categories, including Not Relevant. It’s easy to do, and you can participate for five minutes or five hours, right from your own desk. Doing this allows those responding with resources and aid to see only the Tweets that matter. Log in at crowdcrafting.org/app/MM_TweetClicker/ You can create an account or participate anonymously. A tweet will pop up on your screen with a selection of six categories. Check off the category that the tweet best fits, and wait for the next Tweet to show up. It’s that easy. Log off, and you are done. You can read more about this process in the iRevolution blog post by Patrick Meier, PhD: irevolution.net/2013/11/08/volunteer-typhoon-yolanda/
