Britain will see patchy light rain this evening, although the south will be mainly dry, whereas Northern Ireland and northern parts of the Republic of Ireland will see heavy, prolonged outbreaks. That will clear into northern Britain overnight, with just a little patchy rain following. Southern Britain will stay mainly dry, but west Wales will see heavy showers later. It will be quite muggy. Thursday morning will see patchy rain over the Republic of Ireland becoming heavier and more prolonged, while heavy outbreaks over northern Britain will become lighter and more sporadic. Wales and southern and central England will have sunshine and a few showers, although the South East will be mainly dry. It will be warm, humid and breezy. The afternoon will see prolonged rain spreading to Northern Ireland, northern England and Wales, but it will turn mostly dry elsewhere. Friday will bring persistent heavy rain to the southeastern half of England for a time, but that should clear by early afternoon. The north will have sunshine and showers. There will be more rain over the weekend but next week looks like being mostly fine.
