British Embassy Deputy Political Counsellor Mark Tomlinson spoke at the third annual conference of the Herat Security Dialogue from the 27th- 28th September, hosted by the Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies at the Ikhtyaruddin Citadel in Herat city. Over one hundred people attended the conference, including civil society organisations, Kabul embassies, and Afghan academics. They spoke about how to address Afghanistan’s security and stability issues and how to support the National Unity Government in this area. Mark Tomlinson spoke on the Women, Peace, Security: from Rhetoric to Mainstreaming’ panel.
