Bro. Bakht Singh was a man of prayer. He spent hours on his knees in communion with the Lord seeking His mind regarding the work and ministry. Before he would start any meeting whether in India or abroad, he would insist the organizers pray for months even, at times, for years. His life was saturated with prayer. People often found him day and night on his knees. Usually, he began his day at 4 am praying till 6 am or so. He was a man of devotion who worshiped God. He communed with God and waited on Him to hear His voice for his guidance and direction for the day. He read and mediated on the Word of God, and looked to Him to reveal mysteries from His Word. He sought by prayer to sense the LORDs burden for the day rather than sharing only his needs with God. People who knew him attested to the fact that he was truly a man of Prayer. Example: A few years ago, when he was having a campaign in Nagercoil in the open field, a swarm of insects came like a storm upon them. There were about 7000 people gathered for the evening meeting. They had begun with songs and had only sung about three when this suddenly happened. This swarm of insects came as a storm, which is not unusual in India. Such storms come up like a thick wall, and these insects came upon them like that, covering hands, feet, head and neck and made them restless. They could not even give the Word, for when doing so, the insects went into their months. They thought they could not go on with their meeting because nobody could withstand the insects, as many were going into their mouths and noses. The people were about to disperse, so Bro. Bakht Singh said Kindly wait, we will pray. He prayed Lord in thy Name we rebuke these insects, which the devil has brought to disturb our meeting, and as by faith they took hold of the Lord, the insects fled and they were able to continue the meeting joyfully. He prayed believing that the Lord would answer his prayers and the Lord did mighty wonders and miracles through the prayers of faith of His faithful servant.
