Bro. Mastin’s Notes 12-4-04 Wind Ps.148:8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word: -God speaks to us in many ways -some of the things he uses to speak to us are: -fire -hail -snow -vapour -stormy wind Gen. 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. -man is made up of three parts -spirit -soul -body -when God breathed the breath of life into man, he became a living soul -man was created from the dust -without the breath of life, he is just dust -James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. -dead in trespasses and sins -God formed man from the dust of the ground -God breathed into the man -God talks to people through his breath -man was just dust, before God breathed into him -after God’s breath, he came alive -he had a good mind -he just knew things -he knew what to name the animals -God wants to make people whole -God wants to heal people, spirit, body and soul Gen. 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. -the devil is after our intelligence -he is after our mind -he is after our ability to think -the devil’s first attack was man’s mind -the whole earth was taken over -except one man -except those eight souls who were saved on the ark -it’s affecting all the world, today -they don’t know it -we are going to take a stand for the liberation of minds -men’s thoughts were only evil, continually -God was going to have to destroy the whole earth Gen. 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. -when God breathed the breath of life into the dust, he had formed, he became a living soul -with that living soul, came the mind -the mind to know all the animals -the mind to be a servant of God God giving Noah the mind to be a divine architect: Gen. 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. 15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. 16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. -Noah did not have to go to architectural school -he did not have to do research for instructions -God gave him the instructions -this is a miracle, Satan has hidden Gal. 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Ex. 15:8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea. -the blast of his nostrils -this is the way he opened the Red Sea -the depths were congealed 10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters. Ex. 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: -God protects his people in many ways -he protected them with a pillar of cloud by day -he protected them with a pillar of fire by night Matt. 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: -he will baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire -the same fire as in Ps. 148:8 -that’s God’s fire -that is God’s way of talking to you -the fire that will consume -but it will also protect -it will consume -but it also gives light -it will consume those who are unworthy -but it will protect his people 12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. -in olden days, before the thrashing machine, they would thrash wheat by pitching it up in the air with a fork -they would pitch it in the air, and the wind would blow the chaff away -the word of God will cut the chaff away -those who don’t want to go with the word will be moved out -those who are chaff -those who are left are wheat -God will preserve them -he will save them -he will gather them into the garner -into the barn -he will take us to heaven -the fire will burn up the chaff -it won’t hurt the Christians -it will just cleanse them -chaff -fit to burn -worthless -undesirable -many people are not walking in light -they have a form of godliness -but denying the power thereof Ps. 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. -the ungodly are like the chaff being driven away by the wind Ezek. 37:1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, 2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. -the house of Israel -the Jewish nation -Ezekiel is seeing how dry it is -how lifeless it is 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. -God was asking the prophet, “can these bones live again?” 4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. -“prophesy to them, Ezekiel” -“if they are going to live again, preacher, you have to preach to them” -don’t say, preaching is old fashioned -it is not -we have yet to hear real preaching -he told them to hear the word of the Lord -not some word -not a recitation -not a sermonette -not something to pacify -hear THE word! 5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: -just as God breathed the breath of life into Adam -he would breath the breath of life into these bones -that same breath of life comes through a real preacher -when you hear the preached word, that breath will come to you 6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. -will put breath in you -what the word will do for you -let it stir you -let it move you -“did not our heart burn within us” -the disciples said, on the road to Emmaus 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. -Ezekiel prophesied -then there was a noise -it was that wind blowing 8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. 9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. -Ezekiel prophesied as he was commanded -a preacher does not have his own commandment -he gives God’s commandment
