Broadmead early 1950s, looking down Old King Street (later to be - TopicsExpress

Broadmead early 1950s, looking down Old King Street (later to be renamed Merchant Street) at the junction of Rosemary Street (right), none of this remains. (Rosemary Street is buried under the newer East end of Broadmead). In the distance can be glimpsed the rise of Kingsdown. Rouch & Penny was a firm of electrical contractors trading from 8 Old King St. (what was behind those gates next door?) A number of Ford Commercial vehicles in the street a Wolseley 4/50 car 1948-53 model and based on the body shell of Morris MO series. and more interesting a British Railways Hindle-Smart Helecs electric tug and trailor, would have been marroon in colour. And as a then isnt really possible an approximation google of Merchant Street looking in same direction.
