Broken Change By Nate Spears Published 2013 in “Food For Thought” by Nate Spears (Facebook Poetry Page) Broken change This is a theory that becomes our loss; and once again Your gain All of this in name of hate Condoned by governing parties that appears deeper than fake That’s destine to reach a unknown fate Nothing was ever a factor in determining who would get treated according to such Your life has been pre-chosen by superior bigotry To forever be a disaster By master or some bastards Who forced his last name on you; without even an elope Or being the birthing parent of your lively hood Making things apparent That someone had to be ill And on the flip side of the coin Someone had to be killed; millions Went on to float on, and never sink Birthing the thought of a sickness 400 years is too long; that’s become too old To be determined too early With an essence that reeks worldly stink That smells only if you think. I heard a golden herd heard me Hopefully it’s the best of my flock In resemblance to a good book Birthing words that’s been prayed up, to rain down Upon you In the future of a storm As your body suffers and dries from famish, of this society Delivered from the old, bought unto the new Only to become the worst. These are my words These are my chains These are my broken These are my grounds I drop to In a moment of prayer To break a moment of change.
