Broken Down Have you ever had a car break down on you? I just - TopicsExpress

Broken Down Have you ever had a car break down on you? I just received a call from my mechanic regarding repairing the AC in my VUE. Before giving me the price, he asked me if I was sitting down, never a good sign. In the course of our lives we will face situations that are extremely challenging. Sometimes things break down. What once worked fine will finally begin experiencing trouble. It is just a fact of life that, much like an old car, things inevitably will go kaput! Much like my old VUE, our lives can break down on us. We attempt to fix our brokenness in a number of different ways. Many believe that making more money, getting a more prestigious job, church attendance, finding a better boyfriend/girlfriend, or getting a new spouse is the answer to everything that is wrong in our life. Unfortunately, none of our “fixes” will permanently resolve what ails us. We must remember God is the master mechanic. He is the only one who can permanently repair our brokenness. Our lives are incomplete without Him. This is why no matter how hard we try to fix our problems, apart from Him, nothing will restore us. We would be wise to remember Psalm 147:3, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” God cares for us, He hears us, He acts on our behalf. The Lord doesn’t leave us broken, battered, and beaten. He lifts us up. What does it truly mean to bind up our wounds? The Lord is engaged in looking after us, restoring our health, nursing us back to health. He never leaves us, or forsakes us in our time of trouble. In order to fix our brokenness we must turn to the One who can truly restore us, Jesus. Salvation is found in no other name. Will you turn to Him today? Humbled to be your pastor, Rob
