Broken Pieces “Creature” - Like Led Zeppelin back in the - TopicsExpress

Broken Pieces “Creature” - Like Led Zeppelin back in the day this track opens with some rather open and hard hitting drums and then the entrance of distorted guitars arrive. Vocals are introduced with a bullhorn effect and the vocalists tone fits the song perfectly. I would highly recommend this track to anyone that aggressive guitar hard rock/metal music. The guitar work is layered rather well. The solo in the middle section of this song oozes with emotion and the song is constructed rather well. Driving then peaking, mellowing for just a moment before erupting in finale’. This track is a “Creature” all its own and has the goods. “Battle Song” - Slide work on the guitar in rock is not something heard much these days and Broken Pieces does it very well. Danny sings from the heart and his enunciation and pronunciation is as good as his melody and approach. Roy and Jacob are an extremely talented tight rhythm section that know how to move a song so that it has groove but don’t allow the music to get lost in the weeds. Jeremiah’s lead work is tasteful and while he plays to the song doesn’t get wander out into guitar lands where the solo’s no longer have meaning. I would recommend this track to anyone likes Rock/Alt Rock with southern vibe. With a “Battle Song” such as this capturing a victory is highly likely. “Stand Up” - While the band tackle some rather serious topics these guys are great a creating a good feeling vibe while throwing down. This track has a “stutter repeat” vibe that helps the track have its own vibe and groove. Broken Pieces do well to keep it fresh and interesting I would call this their anthem song where everyone should be face’s up close to the stage chanting along. I really like the sample in the middle of the song and it makes for an excellent pivot point in this song. This song can do nothing but just let the last song fade on the last note cause all good things come to an end. I recommend this song to those that like aggressive Rock/Alt Rock. Its time to “Stand Up” and get off your seat and chant with the band. “Weapon” - The opening “phased” lines and guitar phrasing are familiar to those that like music by Creed. Like their other tracks this Broken Pieces create a gritty track that flows straight from the heart. Around the 2:20 mark the this song takes a step down for a breakdown section. These guys may be Broken Pieces but they are building something rather special and definitely well worth the time to check out. I recommend this track to those that like Alt Rock/ Hard Rock. With so much to choose from out in the musical arena this “Weapon” is one that stands apart from the others right now. Overall review: Broken Pieces aint the type of band to lie to your face. Danny and Jeremiah sing what they mean and mean what they sing. Vocally the band can sing straight up melodic, aggressive and even with a bullhorn in hand have a message that cuts through. The guitars rage and shake with groove and tenacity. They guitar solos they employ can range from sharp as a knife to mellow slide work. The Rhythm section of Roy and Jacob hold very tight. They allow the songs to ebb and flow and become real pieces of art with organic feel. While some tracks may make you want to bang your head many sections have a flowing groove that make you want sway and chill. These guys are no one trick pony. I highly recommend Broken Pieces to anyone who likes Rock/Hard Rock/Metal/Alt Rock. Follow this band and I am sure only better things are to come.
