Broken Trophies I never ceased to be amazed at how God uses broken things. He has used broken pitchers, alabaster boxes, sticks and pottery, but He specializes in using broken lives to show His grace. There is a Japanese art form where ancient pottery is mended by using gold to fill the cracks. The cracked places become the most valuable part of the pottery. They do this to show the value of the journey for which this old piece of clay has endured to bring culture from it’s era to future generations. Temporary trials produce thanksgiving in us, but only the trials that we endure for long periods of time produce character. Every person you have ever met whose life is full of character, is a person who has been put together many times and the cracks of their lives are filled with gold. Their broken places become their most valued treasure in the end. Only endurance can produce character! Press on- the reward will be sufficient!
