Bronchitis and Salt Therapy Bronchitis is a lung condition - TopicsExpress

Bronchitis and Salt Therapy Bronchitis is a lung condition characterized by inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes of the lungs, which in turn causes excessive mucous production. Symptoms include a cough, shortness of breath, wheezing and fatigue. The two types of bronchitis are acute and chronic. Acute bronchitis is usually a complication of a cold and is relatively short lived. Chronic bronchitis is a long-term condition with over five hundred and fifty thousand Australians living with the condition. Salt Therapy can help ease the symptoms of bronchitis. Inhalation of the dry aerosol salt helps to cleanse the respiratory system and hasten the elimination of toxins. These tiny salt particles penetrate into the bronchi and work as a “bronchial brush” for the airways. The salt particles breakdown stubborn thick mucous and assist with mucous clearance in the airways. Salt is a natural anti-inflammatory and so can aid with reduction of inflammation of the airways. We always recommend an intense course of salt therapy sessions in a short period of time initially to help clear out the airways. After this most of our clients who use Salt Therapy for chronic Bronchitis then have regular sessions to keep that inflammation and mucous build up at bay. This may be once a week, once a fortnight or once a month depending on the person and time of year.
