Bronze: The Bambi and Thumper duo pins. When I was a little girl I had a record player beside my bed but I didnt have very many records. Whenever I was sick I would listen to my Bambi record that told the story of Bambi and it always made me feel better. It was just comforting to me. I only listened to it when I was sick and never any other time which made it very special for when I was sick. At least I had something to look forward to while I was laying in bed. I have this pin at home. I bought it in a gift shop at downtown disney when I went to DisneyLand in 2012 with my family on a road trip from Canada. I have loved Bambi ever since I was younger because those memories always make me feel like Im young again. Silver: I went to go see Robin Hood and Maid Marian in theatres with my family when I was a kid. This was the only way to see the movies at that time because they did not have DVDS or videos back then. I was in high school before they came out with videos and even then the videos were too expensive for me to afford. I remember I was so excited because we didnt have many TV shows to watch or any movies so when you got to see one it was a very big deal. I do not own this pin but i would love to buy it or trade for it because it reminds me of my childhood and the excitement of getting to see the movie. I have not been lucky enough to come across this pin in any of the parks yet. Im not even sure if they make them anymore because the movie was made such a long time ago but I will keep trying to look for it. Gold: The Little Mermaid pin. I have this pin at home but I am not at home for the weekend so I had to find a picture online of my pin for this contest. Ariel means a lot to me. I first saw Ariel when my husband and I went to California for the first time when I was 23. This was also my first trip to DisneyLand. We were staying with friends and they had a 3 year old daughter who would watch the Little Mermaid all the time because it was her favourite movie. I watched it with her a few times and she instantly became my favourite princess. I couldnt buy the Little Mermaid movie until i was almost 30 because at the time they would bring the movie out for a short period of time and then it would go back in the vault. That just made the movie more appealing because you had to get it during that short period of time otherwise you couldnt get it for another few years. After that I bought an Ariel barbie doll and clothes for her because one day I hoped that I would have a daughter and I would give her to my daughter. My first daughter was not really into princess dolls but luckily my second daughter was a princess maniac and loved dolls and princesses so I gave it to her. When I gave my doll to my second daughter she was well loved and played with for many years so now she is a bit worn out and the clothes are a bit torn. I got this pin when I went with my family to DisneyLand in 2005. My daughters and I had just started pin trading for the first time and we traded a pin of Snow White for the Little Mermaid pin. I remember almost being more excited than my girls were because Ariel is my favourite. I pinned it to the lanyard that I had around my neck. Every other pin that we bought or traded for I gave to my girls for their collection but I kept the Ariel pin. It is now pinned to a piece of fabric that i draped down the side of the picture frame containing my wedding photo! My family and I might be going to DisneyLand in a few weeks so Im planning on trading more pins when we get there. Whenever we go, I make sure that we dont miss ANYTHING! We get up first thing in the morning to go to the park, get on lots of rides, see every show possible and get involved with pin trading. I guess you could say Im one of those moms that is a child at heart and I want to see and do as much as I can in a short period of time. I like to guarantee that my family has a great trip and misses nothing :)
