Brookfield and Fettercairn School Completion Programme: Two Vacancies Attendance Tracking Officer The Brookfield and Fettercairn School Completion Programme aims to have a positive impact on the levels of pupil retention in primary and post primary schools. The School Completion Programme works to eliminate educational disadvantage and early school leaving for children and young people The Brookfield and Fettercarin School Completion Programme now wishes to recruit a part time Attendance Tracking Officer on a part time sessional contract for the 2013/2014 academic year. The Attendance Officer should; • Have a third level qualification in education, social care, youth and community work or a related discipline • Be community oriented with experience with children and young people • Demonstrate ability to work well with the community at large, including parents and students • Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral, character and initiative • Have good problem solving ability • Have an ability to maintain confidentiality • Have excellent time management, organisational and prioritisation skills • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, parents and the community Description of Role • Promote school attendance and punctuality among all school students • Manage punctuality and attendance tracking daily, submit relevant reports, and contact parents daily regarding non school attendance • Collect data, monitor and record all data in relation to student’s attendance, non attendance and suspensions • Manage and promote the school attendance tracking programme ‘Everyday Counts’ • Be responsible for working with school staff and students to support the welfare needs of students and identify students who may be at risk of educational disadvantage and early school leaving • Coordinate whole school programmes to raise awareness and promote school attendance and punctuality among all students and parents • Work with all agencies as a collective team targeting school attendance, Home School Liaison Teachers and Education Welfare Officer or any other agency that may become involved with the student. • Perform all other duties in relation to school attendance and punctuality Application Process: Curriculum Vitae can be sent to; Lee-Anne Russell, School Completion Programme Coordinator, St Aidan’s Community School, Brookfield, Tallaght, Dublin 24.
