Brother Steve Trader Foxx wanted me to share my experience with the Chicago Board of Trade. As a teenager I worked for ContiCommodities. They were grain traders. I worked on the switchboard. It was exactly like the Lilly Tomlin skits. We got calls from the trading floor, we would plug a cord into a hole to answer. They gave us the number they wanted to call. We had to dial the number, and plug in the correct cord to connect the two. This all happened at great speed. At the end of the call, we pulled the plug to disconnect. As you can imagine, mistakes happened. People were disconnected, connected to the wrong person, etc. When this happened, they would call back and cuss, cuss, cuss!!! They were savage in their verbal attacks. You could literally feel how red their faces must have been. I had no idea what was really happening. I really thought it was funny. The movie really helped me understand just how serious they were! At that time, I only card about my paycheck and the next shoe sale. Now I know it was not funny. I also know how to handle irate customers. Allah is great. I am humbled and grateful to be a part of this group. I thank Allah for each and every one of you.
