Bru is still begging for food and exhibiting his normal PITA - TopicsExpress

Bru is still begging for food and exhibiting his normal PITA behavior...I thought he had started to bulk up a bit this am, but not all that much. Tonight, he couldnt go much at all so Im going to see how he does tomorrow am and maybe cut back on the rice. He is also losing his footing with his front right paw and falling down alot. It really just seems like one of his front legs gives out on him, no pain, but he has to right himself. So the walks are even slower now, and much less ground covered. He consumes himself with sniffing mostly. Hes old, with two spinal surgeries, so I know that they can lose feeling and coordination. I am trying not to overreact but Im in the same situation as when Bosco my cat died. Trying to avoid excessive extra costs, trying not to overly freak out... evaluating my boy while trying to keep my head steady. Hes fine tonight and nowhere near any ER treatments. Hes never once yelped in pain at all. Eating and drinking normally as always. But I know the time is coming and I want to do a better job this time. If I get a few more years, so excellent. If I dont, and he doesnt, I just want him to somehow understand that I love him more than anything... I want him to feel safe, monitored and comfortable -- thats all I ask. I am just putting it out there. The complications and little differences I now recognize as signs...you have to. But I am trying to balance overreacting with proactivity and reality. Hes fine for now, and maybe many more years. But I know it now when I see the end stretch of the highway.
