Bruce- Tonights Movie is 2006s Casino Royale (PG-13) James Bond, a newly commissioned 00 Agent, receives his first assignment. He must find and defeat an arms dealer in a high stakes game of poker. This is a reboot of the 007 franchise. Personally, at the time, I didnt think this reboot was necessary. Upon watching it the first time I was really glad they did. I was pleasantly surprised at how well Daniel Craig stepped into the Bond role. I really liked how they opened the movie with the black and white sequence followed closely by 007s chase of the parkour runner. (One of the best Bond chases ever as far as Im concerned.) This Bond seems to be very unforgiving. His blatant disregard for following protocol will surely land him in hot water with M (played by the very talented Judi Dench). He is virtually a stripped down 007. No Q gadgets to speak of. He had to rely on his wits and cunning using mainly his Walther PPK and his fists to get the job done. Of course I love how this new Bond arced through the dreadful Quantum of Solace and brought us the best 007 movie yet, Skyfall. The reintroduction of Moneypenny and Q tells me they are going to try and bring back a semblance of the old Bond movies. We will find out soon enough as Bond 24 is set to hit theaters on November 6, 2015. I cant wait!
