Bruce,today i was asked a few questions about you from a young lady who never knew you.she asked me what my favorite memory was of you,what you were like and when was the last time that i saw you.I took awhile to answer the questions because its hard to think of a favorite memory of you,its like going to the eye doctor and being given what feels like a hundred options of what letter looks clearer with which eye,at the end i just feel frustrated like Im making up answers.I said that you were humble and hard working,that you were 6ft 4 inches tall and had stunning green eyes,the kind that won nicest eyes in the eighth grade then again when you were a senior in high school.I said that you had gotten your height from your namesake great grandpa Bruce.I have some favorite memories but not just one,i said that the last time that i saw you was on the afternoon of may 20th when you came to help me load up food for a wedding i was cooking for.there were times when i couldnt go on talking about you and the young lady asked if i needed to stop but i eventually got back to it. finally i had to ask for some kleenex because my eyes and nose were running,i still have times that its hard to talk about you.i explained where smile be nice came from and although i dont remember even noticing it till after you were gone i imagine that it served as a reminder as you left your room how you wanted to live your life.it feels weird explaining you to a stranger,i much prefer talking to people that knew you because there is nothing to explain,you were just an amazing human being.if you were still here reading a story about you in the newspaper you would turn beet red with embarrassment,you hated talking about yourself.anyways i love you,am proud of you and miss you dad.
