Many of my private clients are now opting for a Garage Conversion or a Loft Conversion as a low cost option of gaining home office space or another bedroom without the major costs and hassle of a full extension. Garage conversions can cost as little as 10K because the major structural elements are already built and only need to be adapted to become habitable space, while sensitive design means that it looks and feels like a quality part of your home. Loft conversions can also be created for about 15K even in today’s truss rafter style timber lofts without removing the roof. Careful use of hassle free structural engineering techniques allow steels and extra timbers to support the weight and allow the loft to be opened up into a cosy and spacious room with roof windows providing additional light.
