Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul Reunite in Emmys Promo with Julia Louis-Dreyfus! It’s been almost an entire year since the world said its final farewell to Bryan Cranston’s Walter White and Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman during the “Breaking Bad” series finale, but the pair is back in a promo for the Emmys. Dreyfus, Cranston and Paul, nominated for best actor and supporting actor in a drama (“Breaking Bad”), respectively, play slimey a duo named Buzz and Randy Jackson of “Barely Legal Pawn.” In other words, it’s a 4-minute satirical take on reality series of the pawn shop genre, a la “Pawn Stars.” They pair is visited by Julia Louis-Dreyfus (nominated for best actress in a comedy series, “Veep”), who’s looking to pawn her supporting actress in a comedy Emmy (courtesy of “Seinfeld”) to buy her own island, after being inspired by Celine Dion’s private escape (and a bunch of rosé wine). The skinny on the rest of the vid: They haggle over the statue’s worth (it’s cute), but then JLD ultimately decides to leave with the Emmy because she deems it priceless. After realizing she’s forgotten her keys to the prominently placed Audi (nice product placement) she’s driving in the ad, she walks back in to the tune of ominous music and the jovial promo takes a dramatic “Breaking Bad”-style turn — and it’s so good. The 66th Primetime Emmys take place on Monday, Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
