Bryony Crowthers post on PSD - So, an update on Murphy who was diagnosed with mild LH PSD in May (no lesions or tearing, just a slight thickening of the ligament shown on scan), and been treated bi-laterally with 1 x cortisone and 3 x SWT. During this time we have built his controlled exercise up to an hour a day on the lanes, and started 5 mins within that of trot on Tuesday. I started with the ARC a week ago, and I can honestly say that after 2 or 3 days of starting with it, Murphy started to bounce out of his skin - he looks and feels really, really well - and his trot is totally different to how it was before he was diagnosed. Trotting long and low and his back is coming up under me without me asking for him to work. Ian Thirkell, is it possible for the ARC to work that quickly? I am aware that horses will avoid pain (like humans I guess), and he certainly feels different in himself to a week ago. He is always sharp when we are out, but he is now like a rubber ball, as opposed to a spiky one which he was last week. x
