Brysins white count didnt go down this week. It actually went up just a little to 90. The plan now is to do a pill form of chemo called Mercaptopurine at home in hopes that will get the white count down. They want us to come back to KC for stronger chemo before transplant. I got the medication yesterday and the information said it is used to treat the form ALL leukemia and that it attacks the cancer cells. I am a little confused because from what I understand he doesnt have any cancer cells and what he has is a blood disease. But like Ive stated before they really dont know what he has. I just hate giving him a chemo drug that isnt going to do anything for him. So I havent yet. I am going to talk more to the doctor today before I do. Im sure the doctor is doing what he thinks is the right thing but I still have questions. Doctor told me that they just arent sure what the cells are capable of doing and they want to make sure everything is gone before transplant so theres no chance of it coming back. He said it is like a weed and if you dont get it all it will come back. We are going today for another platelet transfusion he was down to 29 Monday. He has been eating great! This had been an issue before him being diagnosed. We also have a 10 out of 10 match for him so that is great. He said there was a cord match as well!
