Bubbles and I are off to the doc for 1:00 pm today to be checked over. On Monday I experienced a Vertigo attack in the Metro store at Lincoln Fields. Unfortunately, my skull went smack into a steel meat freezer and what a bang that was. But in the process my right side absorbed the landing and my skull, on impact, bent my neck to the left. No blood, no cuts, just some light bruising on the leg (outside of right knee). No bump/swelling or scrapes: so no visible signs anything happened. However; within 24 hours my neck and the top of my shoulders started to feel like they had been bruised - a dull pain - and then this morning, the back kicked in - feeling left out of the ballgame. So, I called my doc and Bubbles is taking her mum to the doc at 1:00 p.m. to get it all checked out - just in case. When you are used to constant body pain, you dont figure theres much difference, but head injuries must be checked! The staff were terriffic. Two handsome guys help me to my feet, witnesses came to check what the horrible sound was (bone on steel), and everyone offered me a glass of water?????? Im guessing they thought heart attack or stroke and pills were needed. No thanks was my response. One employee went and got me a chair to sit on and that worked just fine. Bubby went to thank each one in turn, but never left my side. They kept checking on me but I explained that Vertigo episodes are part of my daily living, so I get used to falling down, but hitting a steel freezer was really not in my overall game plan. So anyways, hats off to the staff and everyone who assisted us on Monday evening - I thank you all for caring and for your immediate assistance. The freezer is OK by the way. So now well check my damages with the doc. It appears that my neck, shoulders and back got the aftershock of the impact, and that is what is of concern. Doc will check my skull for me. Guess Im just a Hard Nut To Crack..............and Bubby is the BEST companion to have!!! Val and Bubby
