Buckeye, AZ, The BuckeyeAZ Police Department announces the arrest of three subjects who burglarized a residence twice over two days. On 07/30/14 Buckeye Police responded to the 900 S Block of 230th Drive for a residential Burglary. This residence was that of a winter visitor. During the first investigation it did not appear there was forced entry and the house was in disarray. The scene was processed for physical evidence. During the investigation, the owner’s daughter advised her son, Mark Weissman, may have burglarized the residence as he was previously kicked out of the home for allegedly stealing items. On 07/31/14 Buckeye Police were again summoned to the same residence for another Burglary. It was determined there was forced entry. This time the house was not in disarray and only some jewelry and electronics were missing. The residence was again processed for evidence. Detectives followed up on numerous leads and discovered Jeremy Ortega and Sounxai Nickolas had pawned items related to the Burglary. These two individuals are associated of Mark Weissman. The items were recovered and returned to the owners. Ortega and Nickloas were located on 08/07/14 and booked into MCSO 4th Ave Jail on numerous charges. Weissman had similar charges filed against him with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. This was a great combined effort from our Patrol Officers and Criminal Apprehension Unit. The Buckeye Police Department likes to remind winter visitors when they leave for the summer to have a family member or friend periodically check on the residence. An alarm system is recommended. You can also contact the Buckeye Police Department and request a vacation watch and provide your information. With this information, the beat officers can check your residence.
