Bucs Cup Match Warwick 2s vs Leicester 1s Its a well known fact that revenge is a dish best served cold, however the 2nds had other ideas. Playing Leicester at home after the calamitous match the week before, with team coach watching they pulled off their first victory of the season! A hard fought 3-2 win (having lost 4-1 the previous week). Alex Li kicked things off! He started slowly losing fairly comfortably in the first game! With a bit of advice from Steve he soon put that right winning the second and third games! This set up a thrilling final game which ended with Alex winning 15-13 after saving many game balls! Raghul stepping up at number 5 gave his opponent a masterclass in control winning the first two games comfortably! Somehow between games while receiving advice from Mark and Steve, Raghul managed to back into and trip over a bin in spectacular fashion in a way only Raghul could , fortunately no damage was done! To top things off gave us a scare at 10-8 down in the third before reeling of a string of points to put warwick 2-0 up! Next on court was Ollie Rising, hoping to finish the match off at the first attempt! However things didnt go according to plan, he lost two tight first games to an opponent determined to leap around the court like a salmon! He turned things around in the third winning a game which shifted the momentum! He then fought as hard as he could to level up the scores! Then with composure and confidence he finished the job winning the match overall! Alex Balderstone then stepped up, after a slow so start resulting in losing the first two games comfortably he rallied to win the third! This left the entire gallery wondering if it could happen again! Alex furthered this hope by blowing his opponent of court in the fourth game, unfortunately it wasnt to last as he succumbed in the fifth! A valiant effort and one of his best performances yet! Last up Mark, in what was always going to be a tough match against a opponent hed lost comfortably to the week before.He started poorly losing the first game, while the second game was an improvement he lost this as well before collapsing to a 3-0 defeat! Overall a great maiden win with standout performances from Ollie and Alex Li! Bring on the last 16!
