Buda was in his first open show, now that he is over 12 months. He took the point over Thistle (still in puppy class) but the Spanish Water Spaniel took the group. Buda did delight the crowd as he finished his go around and from quite a distance launched himself onto the table. I have encouraged this as he is really too heavy for me to pick up. He hasnt shown since January, so this is the first time he has done this. He looked quite pleased with himelf. He doesnt even like being on the table. Then, Thistles turn came. She, too isnt thrilled with the table, but as soon as she got near it, ran up to it (I thought she was thinking of also jumping up, which I knew or at least thought she was too little to do) but she just happily put her front paws on it for a rear end lift. The judge laughed and said giver her another month and she, too, will fly onto the table. Lots of interest in the Pumi kids and more and more people are recognizing the breed. Zenta is the most social and goes up to complete strangers asking for attention ( or maybe treats?). Have to really start in earnest with Thistles formal obedience training. Working on Asztros Utility by myself, and think he will be ready for fall shows. Scent article exercise is the hardest for him but suddenly coming along. Also going to put my youngest English Cocker back in the obedience ring for her CDX. So, I have to find time to train 5 dogs in multiple disciplines, plus take care of house and farm chores. Maybe, I should adopt some teenagers?
